Increased transparency in TTIP negotiations

The ongoing TTIP negotiations are about to receive the long demanded boost in transparency by making more and better information available to both citizens and relevant stakeholders. Against this background, EU Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmström announced that:

  • Access to TTIP texts will be granted to all Members of the European Parliament and not just to those belonging to the International Trade Committee.
  • The EU’s negotiation proposals will be published on a regular basis.

“Increased transparency will enable us to show, more clearly, what the negotiations are about and to de-mystify them. We will use this as a basis to engage further with a broad range of stakeholders and the public,” said Malmström.
