This consumer policy report by the German Federal Government provides an overview of the achieved improvements in consumer policy as well as ongoing legislative projects and activities of particular importance to consumer policy. The report also highlights current challenges and key goals of consumer policy – such as the question of how a trustworthy digital society can be shaped or how a stronger alignment of consumer policy with the sustainability goals of the 2030 Agenda is possible. The report also provides an outlook on the further development of consumer policy at national and European level.
