Every day, many people travel between their place of residence and their place of work - they commute. However, commuting is determined by upstream decisions about where to live and work as well as mobility options.

The MOBITAT 2050 project addresses this aspect by taking an integrated view of the areas of mobility, living and working. Using the Frankfurt Rhine-Main metropolitan region as an example, the project developed a set of tools that can be transferred to other regions, consisting of scenarios, modeling of location selection and transport and a sustainability assessment. The project was supplemented by extensive empirical research in the form of two online surveys and focus groups. The stakeholders in the Frankfurt Rhine-Main region were integrated and involved in the project using various formats.

As a project partner, the ConPolicy Institute for Consumer Policy took on the analysis of behavioral science literature, supported empirical surveys, contributed to the behavior-oriented design of mobility measures and tested their effectiveness in behavioral experiments.
