The new High-Tech Strategy of the German government aims at moving Germany forward on its way to becoming a worldwide innovation leader in this field. Within this strategy the government funds a research program on IT security to achieve secure IT systems and better data privacy.
As part of the research on IT security, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research hosts a national conference from the 14th till 16th of February in Berlin. During the three days, several experts on IT security and researchers present and discuss current issues on IT security. The objective of the conference is to adjust the research program on IT security to technical and societal needs in Germany and Europe. ConPolicy-Executive Director Prof Dr Christian Thorun moderates a discussion at the workshop "Accept it or leave it – Digital Self-Determination" about freedom of choice in the digital world.
