This research project on communicating price increases addresses two sets of questions. First, it was examined how companied in the energy sector announce increased prices to their customers. Subsequently, selected types of communication were analyzed with respect to their impact on inducing customers to change their contracts. All in all it becomes evident that energy suppliers use different ways of making price increases appear less negative in order to keep consumers from changing their contracts.
