Under the trend label of nudging a form of governance is being discussed, which is set to enlarge the range of instruments for political decision makers instead of replacing it without alternatives. Nudges can be classified into five groups, which are already well-known from Behavioral Economics and Finance. Phenomena of crises in economic research and practice widened the horizon for this empirically and experimentally based analysis of human decision making.
