More agility as well as continuation and bundling of relevant funding programs in the field of sustainabilityConPolicy supports National Alliance for Future-Oriented Funding Conditions

In the run-up to the 2025 federal elections, political debates are focusing on migration issues, Germany's future viability, the strained financial situation and growing bureaucracy. The urgent need for sustainable transformation is not being discussed to the same extent. In order for such a transformation to succeed, it is crucial to recognize that nature, environmental and climate protection require a vibrant civil society and, in particular, an independent scientific debate.

The National Alliance for Future-Oriented Funding Conditions has developed proposals on how targeted and efficient funding from the federal budget can be possible in the future. The recommendations aim to create a funding framework that invests specifically in Germany's future viability.

The Alliance's central demands on funding policy are as follows

  • Reducing bureaucracy in funding programs and speeding up application and approval procedures. Greater digitalization and simplified state aid regulations are necessary for this. The planned simplification of state aid regulations at EU level should be actively supported to this end.
  • Bundling of programs and avoidance of redundant structures.
  • Continuation of existing, successful funding programs.
  • Evaluation of the effectiveness of programs and the funding efficiency of project sponsors.
  • Participation of the target group in the process of developing new programs.

The alliance includes numerous non-profit organizations, associations and research institutes from the fields of climate protection, environment, energy, consumer protection, social services and welfare. The ConPolicy Institute played a key role in formulating the demands and developing the alliance from the outset.
