The energy transition and the goal of climate protection continue to determine the development dynamics of electricity and gas markets in Germany. This is being documented and evaluated in the monitoring report 2020 by the German Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) and the Federal Cartel Office (Bundeskartellamt). Consumer information, market transparency and analyzing market competition are the goals of this monitoring report. In this brochure, key consumer metrics of the monitoring report are compiled. They relate to energy generation and, in the electricity and gas supply, prices and network charges, supplier changes, supply disruptions and blockages of household customers.
