Since 2011, the German Government has been supporting Lao PDR and other ASEAN Member States in the introduction and implementation of competition policy and law. In a new follow-on project, the support will be expanded to consumer protection in selected countries. The project is being implemented by German International Cooperation (GIZ).
In an appraisal mission, ConPolicy-Director Prof Dr Christian Thorun supported die Lao Government and GIZ in specifying the new project objectives. The project will commence in spring 2015 and has a duration of three years.
