The digitalization of our lives raises a wide range of questions: What are the particular challenges that consumers and consumer policy face in the digital world? How should a modern consumer policy react to these challenges? Is more state legislation necessary or should consumers take more responsibility?
Together with Renate Künast (Chairman of the German Parliament’s Committee for Justice and Consumer Protection), Mechthild Heil (Consumer Protection Rapporteur for the conservative Fraction in the German Parliament) and Dr Bernhard Rohleder (Executive Director of Bitkom), ConPolicy-Director Prof Dr Christian Thorun engaged in a debate about these issues at an event organized by SCHUFA.
