Consumer education is at the heart of the US National Consumer Protection Week that takes place March 7-13, 2010. The aim of the campaign is to better educate consumers about their rights. The event is sponsored by government agencies and national consumer groups.
For the campaign a website was created (www.consumer.gov/ncpw), which offers information for different target groups. Games and videos teach practical lessons about the role of business and government in everyday life. To provide a platform for dialogue the side features a blog (www.consumer.gov/ncpw/blog).
The website offers information about consumer rights, privacy, how to manage money and debt, avoid identity theft, understand credit and mortgages, and steer clear of frauds and scams.
